Doing gratitude & being

As we each have our own way of ending a year and beginning a brand new one, I’ve taken inventory every year since I was a girl. Before the 4-numbers of time become but a footnote, there was so much life inside them, and I needed to do something with that! It was gratitude that calmed my over active mind and helped form my way of being.

Pause. Breathe. Feel. Write.

When we look back we see connection in time. When we remember, we feel the places, the people. When we tune to our bodies, we can feel the part of it that is most affected by our struggles and challenging moments. The part that feels love when we are loved. The part of us that healed when we stayed with ourselves like a good friend does, until the storm passes, and the storm always passes.

It doesn’t matter where you are today, it only matters you are still journeying. We look back, yes, but not for too long less we stumble on what is under our feet today or we miss a very beautiful moment. God put eyes on the front of our faces, not on the back of them. He gave us spines that allow our necks to turn, but they’re not meant to stay turned for too long. We also were given smiles on the front of our faces. With our whole beings, we choose gratitude, a smile forms and we step forward into a new year, one foot in front of the other and one day at a time.

My gratitude and way of being to you & from my ❤️  for journeying with me,

Jill
